Health Care Party USA (HCPUSA) is still for quality, AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE for ALL, but, after seeing the mockery Congress is making of all this, of you, who cares what 70% of the voters want? Not Congress.
We Americans get what we deserve: Expensive, offshore-made ipods, LCD tv's, etc., and texting, social networking, TALK RADIO nonsense. We are just TOO preoccupied to be good citizens So we get:
-a lousy national government wasting trillion$$$;
-worse state governments with huge deficits caused by Congress sending our factories, good jobs and local tax bases offshore, drying up revenues for state governments, creating HUGE deficits for state governments, and
- even less money for our LOCAL GOVERNMENTs whose Grand Lists shrink as the property taxes once collected for "plant and equipment" get exported offshore with Copngress-passed WTO and NAFTA. A lousy tax base locally means less money for schools, police, fire, and other services -AND- higher property taxes on homes, resulting in increased foreclosures...leaving LESS for education, fire or police services.
Factories, jobs, income gone? Government going soon.
Sooooo we get what we deserve:
more jobs lost.
more health insurance cancelled & unaffordable.
more homes foreclosed on.
more good jobs exported overseas.
higher energy, food and other prices.
a CONGRESS & President going on vacation!
You gotta be kidding!
Be a citizen. As if e really had a government 'of, by and for the people.' As if you really did appreciate so many soldiers fighting and dying for our government. Do something MORE than just flying the flag or listening to Talk Radio.
Tell Congress and the President to "Lead by Example." Let them buy their own benefits & take less pay. Then we'll see if they can learn to lead our government "of, by and for the people," one NOT beholden to PAC pals or spouses serving on corporate boards THEY regulate!

..to Revoke Health Care and Other Benefits for Congress
& to Reduce Congressional Salaries to $99,999.00 per annum.
Preamble:
Whereas health care & its insurance costs TOO MUCH for all Americans,
whereas 50 million of us have no health insurance at all,
whereas Congress can't agree on how to provide quality, affordable health care for all of us,
whereas our economy is in dire straits with millions unemployed and losing homes,
whereas our government deficits are growing by leaps and bounds,
whereas increased imports have eliminated most good-paying American jobs,
whereas tax burdens on Americans have become unbearable and are no longer 'sustainable,'
-NOW THEN, WE, the American people, reclaim our government & PETITION
our CONGRESS to lead by example and pass laws to immediately
1) revoke all taxpayer-funded health and other benefits, for all of Congress, and
2) reduce all Congressional pay/compensation to $99,999 per annum, until all
Americans have good-paying jobs, quality, affordable health care and
retirement benefits, a decent home at reasonable cost,
and
3) make it a crime for any Member of Congress or any member of
his/her immediate family to serve on any board of directors, or in any paid
capacity for any business, corporation regulated by Congress -

Once again, Congress is in "gridlock" over health care - except for the health care they all have all ready.
But, when it comes to our health care, our family's health care, our jobs and benefits, our communities, our income, Congresss is out to lunch, worried about "the deficit", can't put our priorities "ON THE TABLE."
All as our President meets only with insurance companies and providers, bankers and foreign leaders - many of them dictators - and never with OUR consumer advocates, our nurses, our families. US. He flies around the world entertaining other leaders of other countries who all ready have good, universal health care for their citizens, who collect automatic, unemployment benefits = 90% of the wages they earned before losing their jobs
IF we cannot agree on enacting quality health care for all of us here in the USA, -like everyone else in the world has all ready agreed, if we cannot demand a new, national jobs program, or demand a halt to all home and small business/small farm foreclosures....
--- we CAN agree that Congress should LEAD by EXAMPLE, take a pay cut down to $99,999/year (still more than 10,000 X the min wage they expect the rest of us to live on) and pay for their own benefits. So:
